I wish I'd gotten info about this prior to New Year's (and hopefully I'll remember it next year), but in Scotland they call New Year's Hogmanay and have several traditions used in the celebration.

Sounds maybe like a group project? Do all the research we can on various holidays, religious and otherwise and come up with our own new, unique traditions?
